Save the Date! Stumbling stone unveiling on June 29 for persecuted Section member

vom

The public Stumbling Stone Ceremony for Ernst Meissinger and his family on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 2:40 p.m. will take place in front of the house at Hadrianstraße 5 in Frankfurt-Heddernheim (Römerstadt), the family's last Frankfurt on the Main address.

All interested parties, especially section members, are cordially invited!

The committed alpinist and group leader Ernst Meissinger was expelled from the Frankfurt Alpine Club in 1935 because he had a Jewish mother. A total of five Stolpersteine, now donated by the section, will be unveiled: for Ernst Meissinger, his mother Rosa and his siblings Hans, Lili and Marlies. All of them were subjected to reprisals and persecution by the National Socialists.

The event is organized by the Initiative Stolpersteine Frankfurt. The memorial stones are the first Stolpersteine to be donated by the German Alpine Club section Frankfurt on the Main. We are delighted that descendants of the Meissingers from the USA will also be attending the ceremony. They have been very supportive of our research. Representatives of the Tracing Team and the Frankfurt section board will also be attending on June 29, 2025.
