Further Biografies Posted Online

In recent months, we have added numerous new biographies, such as those of Else Bermann, who died in Frankfurt on the Main in 1937, Friedrich Alexander Neubürger, who was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944, and Klaus Neisser, who emigrated to Brazil after completing his doctorate at the University of Göttingen. For some, we have been able to add photo galleries to the biographies thanks to the help of descendants, for example Otto Aschaffenburg, who died in Berlin in 1942, and Mathilde Maier, who was also able to emigrate to Brazil. Martha Krieter, granddaughter of Paul Spiro, who emigrated to Switzerland in 1933, has kindly provided us with a voice-over about her grandfather and some photographs. This gives us a completely new insight into his life.
We are currently researching other former members of the Frankfurt on Main section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club who were persecuted by the National Socialists as Jews or because of their Jewish family background. For example, information about the physician Egon Pribram, professor at the University of Giessen, and the doctor Dr. Ludwig Schönthal, who died in the USA in 1934, will soon be posted online on our Spurensuche (tracing) website. Initial information can already be found about his brother Max Schönthal, who emigrated to Great Britain. However, further research is still needed to provide a more comprehensive account of his fate.
It is therefore worth visiting our website from time to time to look at new biographies and those that have already been created. There is always something new to discover. Just click in.
