vom

The book was published by historian Maike Brüggen in collaboration with the Jewish Community of Frankfurt on the Main. It contains 75 biographical sketches of Jewish people who lived in Frankfurt in the pre-war period and were forced to leave the city during the Nazi dictatorship. Among them are the former section members Eugen Cahen-Brach (murdered in Theresienstadt) and Arthur Kaufmann (murdered in Auschwitz).

Many of the people described in the book were deported and murdered in concentration camps, while others managed to escape into exile. The publication is based on the so-called deportation card index of the Jewish community of Frankfurt am Main, which consists of around 6,500 index cards containing data on members of the community.

The book was published by the publisher house Hentrich & Hentrich and has 392 pages and 75 illustrations. It costs only 23,- €.
